On September 26, 2018, HASSE students from 10 Asianuniversities, invited by NASA Flight Director, had an exclusive opportunity tovisit the current International Space Station mission control and meet withJAXA Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
Akihiko Hoshide (Hoshide Akihiko, born December 28, 1968) isa Japanese engineer and JAXA Astronaut. On August 30, 2012, Hoshide became thethird Japanese astronaut to walk in space.
Astronaut Akihiko Hoshide will be onboard the InternationalSpace Station for about six months from around May 2020 and serve as itscommander during the latter part of his stay.
